Interactive Angles Explorer
Explore angle size, turns, angle types and missing-angle reasoning using an interactive visual tool. Children can build, compare and investigate angles while developing a clearer understanding of degrees and geometric relationships.

Curriculum Links
This tool supports the Shape and Space strand of the Irish Primary Mathematics Curriculum, especially work in angles, turns, 2D shapes, spatial reasoning, measurement and geometric problem-solving. It is most suitable for 3rd Class – 6th Class, with simpler angle comparison and turn activities useful as an introduction.
Children can use the Angles Explorer to:
identify and compare angles, recognise acute, right, obtuse, straight and reflex angles, explore turns, estimate angle size, measure in degrees, investigate angles in shapes, and reason about missing angles.
Lesson Ideas
Angle Types
Show different angles and ask children to classify them as acute, right, obtuse, straight or reflex. Encourage them to explain how they know.
Make an Angle
Call out an angle size, such as 45°, 90° or 120°, and ask children to create it. This helps connect visual angle size with degrees.
Estimate First
Display an angle without showing the measurement. Ask children to estimate the size before revealing the exact number of degrees.

Triangles Explorer
Investigate triangle types, side lengths, angles and missing-angle reasoning interactively.
Circle Explorer
Explore radius, diameter, circumference, sectors and circle properties using visual models.
Geoboard
Build shapes, explore symmetry, and investigate area, perimeter and spatial reasoning.
